The Daoxiangcun Group traces its origins to Suzhou Daoxiangcun, founded in 1773 (the 38th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty) in Suzhou, China. It is one of the oldest existing enterprises in the Chinese pastry industry. As one of the first recognized “China Time-Honored Brands” and the creator of the renowned “Daoxiangcun” brand, Daoxiangcun Group has developed into a large modern food enterprise group with a history spanning over two centuries, thanks to the inheritance and innovation of generations of Daoxiangcun people.

Daoxiangcun History

Daoxiangcun Group adheres to the “craftsman spirit” in its products. The traditional handcraft techniques of “Daoxiangcun” are passed down through the “master-apprentice” method from generation to generation. Since its establishment, Daoxiangcun Group has had a clear lineage of skill inheritance, spanning six generations to date. The craft transmission relies entirely on oral instruction and hands-on practice, with complex processes and strict quality requirements. For example, the Suzhou-style mooncake from Daoxiangcun has a pastry layer as thin as paper, with up to 16 layers. This particularly crucial process requires extensive practical experience accumulated over time.

Daoxiangcun

In response to the national “Belt and Road” initiative and the “Going Global” strategy of Chinese enterprises, Daoxiangcun has implemented the “Daoxiangcun Going Abroad” strategy. It has registered the “Daoxiangcun” trademark in over 60 countries and regions around the world, and exports its products to over 40 countries and regions through cross-border stores and other channels. This allows overseas Chinese to taste the flavors of their hometown and lets international friends experience the Chinese culture behind Daoxiangcun’s cuisine.
